Reflecting on 2017

When I think back on this past year, I have an overwhelming sense of gratitude. I'm not sure I can put it into words but, I feel so incredibly lucky and thankful for the life I live, the people in my life, the job I have, and the experiences I get to enjoy. I've always known how lucky I am and it is something I never want to take for granted. 2017 was just a year that I would get all caught up in these moments where I would stop and think, "I can't believe this is my life and I am so god damn lucky".

It was a year where I made a promise to myself to never leave this beautiful place I call home.

It was a year where all the pieces of the puzzle were put together.

It was a year filled with many AMAZING vacations.

It was the year I found my favorite place on earth, Little Cinnamon Bay.

It was the year I fell even more madly in love with this kind, trustworthy, hardworking, handsome, life-saving, romantic, wonderful man.

It was the year I gained a sister.

It was the year I turned 25 and felt pretty fine! Haha, in all honestly it was really the year where I truly felt the most comfortable and confident in my own skin.

It was the year my PD and RA went into remission!

It was a year with lots of trips to see my best girlfriends.

It was the first year I truly and fully lived on my own and in own apartment. Lots of up and downs in that little place and I certainly learned a lot about myself.

It was the year we welcomed a new cute little fury guy into our lives.

It was the year I finally got off of night shift!

It was the year I realized I become more like my mother year after year.

It was the year I gained some pretty rad girlfriends.

And finally, it was the year we bought our first home!

Cheers to 2017 and hoping that 2018 is just as wonderful, although I am pretty sure it will be!

Have a safe and Happy New Year!

Friday Favorites IV

Happy Friday! This weekend is especially special because it's girls weekend here on Cape. A few of my college girlfriends are coming down for a weekend filled with beach trips, adventures to the winery, drinks and endless laughs. I AM SO EXCITED! They are going to pull into my driveway any minute now so lets get into things I'm loving this weekend.

  • Renee's Bridal Shower

My future sister in laws bridal shower was this past weekend, and it was such a perfect evening. It was so heart warming and sweet to see her surrounded by so many woman she loves and who love and adore her! Renee is someone who always thinks of others and makes them feel special so it was especially wonderful showering her and gifts and love last Sunday.  Her and my brother couldn't be more perfect for each other and I am so over the moon excited for their wedding in August. But, next stop is Nashville for the bachelorette party!

You guys know how much I love my Aquaphor. Well, it might now be replaced. I bought this lip oil a few weeks ago at my local CVS on a whim without high expectations. Mostly every other lip product irritates my lips and makes them flakey and red. Not this product! It is so incredibly soft and soothing with the most perfect soft rose scent.

  • Peony Season
My favorite flower is lilly of the valley but, peonies come in a close second. And with lilly of the valley season over, peony season is in full effect at my house. I picked up a few bouquets at my local Trader Joes and I am loving them. They are the most beautiful soft pink with such an elegant smell. I mixed them with white roses and it made the perfect centerpiece for my kitchen table. There is something about having fresh flowers in my house that makes me happy.

  • This coffee creamer

I picked up this non-dairy coffee creamer at the store yesterday after having it at my Moms house last weekend. I've tried both the vanilla and caramel and they're both fantastic. You can't tell they're dairy free. I especially like them in a glass of ice coffee.

  • Nude nail polish

I always gravitate towards nude nail polish when I get my nails done. It's simple, classic and goes with just about anything. Once in a while I'll branch out and get a color and two days later I'll regret it and be stuck with a pink or purple for two weeks. I am loving this color by OPI called "Be There in a Prosecco". How cute is that name? Another favorite of mine is OPI "Funny Bunny".

What are you up to this weekend? What are your Friday Favorites?

Have a great weekend! I'll be back Monday with a recap of our girls weekend.
