Now, you already know my obsession with Tarte. Their makeup products have never let me down so I thought, why not try their skin care items? I was in the market for a new cleanser and moisturizer so I gave them a try. I am so glad I did! The Deep Dive Cleansing Gel is my new jam. Its hypoallergenic and incredibly gentle on the skin. An added bonus is that it is great for taking off makeup. A perfect 2 in 1! It smells clean and refreshing and doesn't have that overpowering chemical smell like some cleansers do. When I repurchase this I think I may need to buy it in super sized!
After cleansing my face with the cleansing gel, I then apply the Drink of H2O Hydrating Boost Moisturizer. It's a lightweight water based gel. Just like the moisturizer, it is gentle on the skin and leaves your face feeling super hydrated and incredibly soft.
I have very sensitive and dry skin so my skin just screams the need for hydration. Especially in the dry winter months. When I feel my skin needs a little extra moisturizing I use the Pacifica Vital Immersion Deep Hydrating Mask. (I bought it at Ulta last year but, I couldn't find it anywhere online.) This stuff is intense. The directions say, "Apply a thin layer to face. For best results, leave on for 30 minutes or more. For intensive therapy, leave on overnight. Remove with water." I always leave the mask on overnight and remove it in the morning. It leaves my skin feeling silky smooth and hydrated. On average I probably use this once a week.
A few times a week I always exfoliate my face. I've mentioned this in previous posts. I'm still using the Yes To Grapefruit scrub. It's a gentle exfoliator that I've even using for years and keep repurchasing.
The last thing I try to do a couple times a week is a face mask. Depending on how my skin is and what I'm feeling that particular night, I'll try different kinds of masks. Whether it's a mask for hydrating, brightening, repairing, energizing, etc I really try to do them twice a week. I love under eye masks too. Those particularly come in handy after working a few night shifts in a row. My favorite masks lately are Yes To masks. Last week I used their primRose Oil Mud Mask and I LOVED that one. Their sheet masks are great too. And an added bonus is that I found them at Walmart for like $2! Another favorite brand of mine for sheet masks that took me by surprise is Sephora. I've tried numerous kinds of their sheets masks and I've liked them all.
There ya have it, my current skin care routine. All the products I have mentioned work wonderfully for my sensitive skin and perioral dermatitis. They haven't caused a breakout or exacerbated my PD. Just keep in mind that everyones skin is different and what works for me, might not work for you. Keep researching! Read labels and reviews and spend the time researching something or try a sample of a product before you buy it. Please share your current and favorite skin care products below, I'd love to hear about them!
