Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie

The weather is finally getting warmer! The past few days have been sunny and 60 degrees. It was a long winter so I am overly excited about the warm temperatures and sunny skies. And warm weather comes with cute spring clothes, nights by the fire, the end of nursing school (SO SOON!), and smoothies!

Smoothies are one of my all time favorite breakfast meals. They also make a delicious mid-day snack. Smoothies are a great way to add it fruits, vegetables, proteins, vitamins and minerals into your diet. I also love them because they require less then five minutes to make, and are a perfect option for an on the go nursing student like myself. The recent warm temperatures sparked my memory to start making smoothies again so I thought I would share my favorite smoothie!

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup spinach (I promise you can't taste it)
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder
  • 1 6 oz container of strawberry yogurt
  • 1/2 cup water or milk of choice
  • Ice cubes
Directions:
  • Add all the ingredients into a blender and blend away. Pour into a cup and enjoy!

I use a nutri-bullet and it works wonderfully. It may be the best blender I have ever used. It is perfect for making smoothies and juices. Also, I love to use frozen fruit because it makes the smoothie colder and creamier. I don't eat or drink dairy so that is why I used a dairy free yogurt. But you can add any strawberry yogurt you'd like. I recently found these dairy free yogurts by Silk at my local grocery store and was so excited to try them. I drink Silk's almond milk but, I never knew they made yogurts. I bought the blueberry and strawberry and both are delicious.

I hope you enjoy my favorite Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie and I hope it becomes one of your favorites!
