Smoothies are one of my all time favorite breakfast meals. They also make a delicious mid-day snack. Smoothies are a great way to add it fruits, vegetables, proteins, vitamins and minerals into your diet. I also love them because they require less then five minutes to make, and are a perfect option for an on the go nursing student like myself. The recent warm temperatures sparked my memory to start making smoothies again so I thought I would share my favorite smoothie!
Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1 cup spinach (I promise you can't taste it)
- 1 cup strawberries
- 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder
- 1 6 oz container of strawberry yogurt
- 1/2 cup water or milk of choice
- Ice cubes
Directions:
- Add all the ingredients into a blender and blend away. Pour into a cup and enjoy!
I use a nutri-bullet and it works wonderfully. It may be the best blender I have ever used. It is perfect for making smoothies and juices. Also, I love to use frozen fruit because it makes the smoothie colder and creamier. I don't eat or drink dairy so that is why I used a dairy free yogurt. But you can add any strawberry yogurt you'd like. I recently found these dairy free yogurts by Silk at my local grocery store and was so excited to try them. I drink Silk's almond milk but, I never knew they made yogurts. I bought the blueberry and strawberry and both are delicious.
I hope you enjoy my favorite Chocolate Covered Strawberry Smoothie and I hope it becomes one of your favorites!
